KUALA LUMPUR: The government had spent RM12,718,752.01 to cover the costs of official overseas visits by its Cabinet members between May and December 2018.
In a written reply to Barisan Nasional (BN) lawmaker Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin dated yesterday, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Dr Md Farid Md Rafik said the expenditure covered 31 trips.
"The expenditure also covered government officers accompanying the Cabinet members, as approved by the Cabinet," Md Farid said.
Zahidi had asked for the government to state the total overseas trips by the Cabinet members between the said period.
He had also asked for the government to state the nature of the visits, cost and total number of delegations involved.
