MALAYSIANS who were abuzz over the marriage of the Tengku Mahkota of Kelantan, Dr Tengku Muhammad Faiz Petra, to Swedish national Sofie Louise Johansson on Friday (April 19) had to content themselves with news reports of the wedding, as the event was strictly a closed-door affair.
However on Saturday, the Kelantan Palace released glittering images of the modest, matrimonial event – and netizens have been electrified by the photos.
Going instantly viral, images of the ceremony, held at the Istana Balai Besar in Kota Baru, Kelantan, show the happy royal couple seated on the wedding dais, as well as the interior of the palace, which had been tastefully decorated for the official reception and banquet.
The wedding was attended by Kelantan royalty and close friends and family members of the royal couple, some of whom are seen in posed and candid photos from the event.
The reception followed the solemnisation ceremony at 8.35pm by Datuk Aria Diraja cum Kelantan Syariah Court chief judge Datuk Daud Mohamad.
