Lee Lam Thye gets 2nd award from UNI-MLC

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye received a special award from the Union Network International-Malaysia Labour Centre (UNI-MLC) during its Labour Day celebration here.

This is the second time that Lee, who is the adviser to UNI-MLC, was given the special award in as many years.

The award was in recognition of his outstanding contribution to raising the standards of occupational safety and health in Malaysia.

The award was presented to Lee, who is the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Niosh) chairman, by UNI-MLC president Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal.

The Labour Day celebration was organised by UNI-MLC and Bank Islam Malaysia Executives Union.

UNI-MLC consists of 120 trade unions and more than 550,000 members nationwide.
