Dr M, wife among speakers at My Voice My Nation Malaysia on June 26

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, will make a special appearance as honorary speakers at the My Voice My Nation Malaysia 2019 at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, on June 26.

The programme, which includes motivational public speaking forum and a charity concert is organised by Sannie Movement (M) Sdn Bhd and Relement Group Sdn Bhd, with the cooperation of the Youth and Sports Ministry as well Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (Motac).

Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said Dr Mahathir would share his life story prior to joining politics, including when he was a medical undergraduate, as well as his experience as a doctor, and as the country’s leader.

He said the programme was in line with the ministry’s aspiration to make Malaysia a “debating nation”.

“It is time for Malaysians to be exposed with such programme and it is hoped that My Voice My Nation Malaysia 2019 will mark its own history, while at the same time empower the youth and boost patriotism among the people,” he said during the programme launch today.

It will feature a line-up of personalities in public speaking from Malaysia and other countries. Politicians, entrepreneurs and entertainers will share their success stories as a source of inspirations to others.

The main programme, titled “Jiangsu TV Satelit — My Voice My World” was first aired on Jiangsu Television in 2016.

Air Asia Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is also expected to be present as an honorary speaker.

The Malaysian Paralympic Athletes Foundation will also be launched during the event.

Guests will be entertained by Hong Kong-based Chinese-American actor Michael Wong Man-tak.
