KUANTAN: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, attended the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house hosted by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail here today.
The King and his consort along with their children arrived at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Silver Jubilee Hall here, which was already filled with guests dressed in their traditional outfits, about 4.05pm.
Al-Sultan Abdullah who was clad in a white baju melayu was received by Wan Rosdy, his wife Datin Seri Burhah Mohammed and other state dignitaries.
As they walked into the hall, guests including children formed a long line and took the opportunity to greet them and take pictures.
They were also joined by former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor on the main table.
There was no music and stage performance during the event as Pahang is observing 40 days of mourning following the death of the former Sultan of Pahang, Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, on May 22,.
Some 7,000 people from all walks of life were treated to a widey array of delicacies such as satay, ketupat, lemang, nasi minyak and ice kacang.
The guests at the event included state assemblymen, state political party members, members of the public and foreigners.
