KUANTAN: Four people, including a little girl, were killed and another injured in a collision between a car and two lorries at Jalan Kuari Bukit Mendi-Felda Bukit Mendi in Bera near here, today.
The deceased, comprising a man, two women and a girl, were passengers of a Perodua Viva.
Their identities have not been ascertained, Bernama reported.
Meanwhile, the driver of one of the lorries sustained injuries and is being treated at the Bukit Mendi Health Clinic here.
The 1.35pm accident saw the car drift and crash into the underside of one lorry, while the other heavy vehicle ploughed into the side of a knoll along the road shoulder.
Occupants of the Perodua Viva are believed to have been crushed to death.
“An officer and five firemen in a fire engine from the Triang Fire and Rescue Station were rushed to the scene (after receiving an emergency call on the accident).
“They extricated the bodies of all victims which were trapped in the car,” state Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Mohd Sani Harul said in a statement here, today.
He added that the remains were handed over to the police for further action.
