PNSB Construction, MGB Bhd to develop 1,800 affordable homes in Selangor

SHAH ALAM: PNSB Construction Sdn Bhd and MGB Bhd (PCSB-MGB) Consortium will develop up to 1,800 units of affordable housing through the Idaman Cahaya development project on a 6.69ha of land located at Encorp Cahaya Alam in Selangor.

The gross development value of this project is estimated to be RM450million.

The project which will be carried out in collaboration with Must Ehsan Development Sdn Bhd (Must Ehsan Development) which is a full subsidiary of Encorp Berhad and Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS), aimed to support the state government’s commitment to build affordable housing under the Rumah Idaman initiative.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the state government is committed to build 30,000 units of affordable housing in Selangor by 2025 via the latest home-owning initiative, aimed to help the B40 group in Selangor to live in quality and affordable houses.

“Under this Rumah Idaman, Selangor folks will get more options on house ownership therefore helping them to improve their quality of life,” Amirudin said during a ceremony to sign the development rights agreement between PCSB-MGB Consortium and Must Ehsan Development, at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, at the Selangor state secretariat building yesterday.

PCSB-MGB Consortium are entities of PNSB Construction Sdn Bhd and MGB Berhad is a subsidiary of LBS Bina Group Berhad (LBS).

The Idaman Cahaya project is the development of residential units comprising of a three bedrooms and two bathrooms apartment spanning 1,001 sqft at RM250,000.

He said Idaman Cahaya will also furnish the apartments for each units with television set, television and kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, air-conditioner, wardrobe and water heaters.

“This project is slated to benefit from the nearby urban areas at the Shah Alam development corridor centre and rapid neighbourhood growth,” he said.

“Besides that, it also has a good connectivity access via the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) and the Federal Highway,” he said.

Meanwhile, MGB Bhd and LBS managing director Tan Sri Lim Hock San said they is confident that Rumah Idaman will deliver quality products, thus will serve as a benchmark for the Selangor affordable housing project through the synergy of experienced companies in developing the best residential and commercial developments.

“Until today, LBS has succeeded in completing 35,000 properties including building affordable houses, integrated cities and commercial units, among others,” he said.

Also present were Economic Affairs ministry Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and Housing and Local Government minister Zuraida Kamaruddin.
