Accident victim gets a helping hand... from the King!

PUTRAJAYA: Just a few days ago, a photo of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah queueing up at the Temerloh Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlet went viral, leaving many of us in awe.

Today, he once again shows why he is the King of our hearts.

In a series of three photos released by Istana Negara’s Instagram account this morning, the King, looking dapper in a black suit, was seen extending a helping hand to an accident victim in Putrajaya.

His Majesty was on his way to Istana Melawati for a pre-cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad when his motorcade stumbled upon the accident involving a Perodua Alza.

The victim, 38-year-old Jasliza Jamil, fortunately escaped unhurt.

The photos that were shared about three hours ago have garnered over 5,000 likes and over 200 comments.

Meanwhile, Berita Harian reported that Putrajaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Rosly Hassan said the 7.20am incident occurred when the driver of the Perodua Alza was on her way from Gombak to her workplace in Presint 2.

“The road was wet and slippery due to rain. She lost control of her vehicle and it skidded onto the road divider.

“During the accident, the King’s motorcade was passing through. He got down to check on the victim for a few minutes before continuing his journey to Istana Melawati,” said Rosly.
