KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd has caught up with the craze surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The national postal service today unveiled its first-ever Marvel superhero themed stamp series in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia.
The Walt Disney Company Malaysia and Singapore retail and licensing head Tan Wee said the limited edition Marvel Super Hero Stamp was created in honour of the year-long celebration for Marvel’s 80th anniversary.
He said the series features 10 of the fans’ favourite Marvel superheroes (and villains): Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Widow, Black Panther, Loki and Thanos.
Pos Malaysia senior vice-president (marketing) Schrene Goh said the “Marvel 80 Years” stamp collection was one of the “must have” stamp titles, particularly for Marvel fans, as it comes with a “unique and interesting” comic book inspired logo.
“This collection is undoubtedly a limited edition collection as it showcases the Marvel universe which turned 80 years old this year as well as leveraging on the series of blockbuster movies depicting the sagas of these superheroes.
“It is also our hope that the introduction of such stamps would attract the younger generation to collect stamps and rejuvenate the stamp collecting interest in this modern time,” she said.
For avid stamp collectors, Pos Malaysia encourages them to sign up for the Standing Order Deposit Account (SODA) to ensure that they will not miss out on upcoming stamp series.
The stamp series will be released tomorrow by pre-purchasing at general post offices nationwide.
