Body found in search for Nora Quoirin, identity not confirmed yet [NSTTV]

SEREMBAN: A body has been found by rescuers searching for Nora Anne Quoirin, the Irish teen who went missing from a resort here on Aug 4.

However, police have yet to confirm whether this was the body of the 15-year-old special needs teenager.

The situation is tense around the resort where the teen went missing as police forensics unit vehicles were seen entering and leaving.

Police cordoned off the entrance of the resort at about 2.30pm while a forensics unit vehicle was seen entering at 3.30pm.

Two forensics unit vehicles were seen entering the resort again at 3.50pm.

Members of the media are also anxiously awaiting news as police have requested to wait for the official update.

This is the 10th day of the search for Nora, the eldest of three children to husband and wife Meabh and Sebastien Quoirin.

The family had arrived in Negri Sembilan for a two-week holiday in Malaysia and checked in at the resort the day before she went missing.

On Aug 4, the family discovered Nora missing, a large window in one of the room left open.

The family had insisted that she had been abducted, but with no evidence supporting this, police classified the case as that of a missing person, though they said investigators were still looking at all possible angles, including abduction.

A massive search and rescue (SAR) operation was mounted by several hundred policemen, including members of the famed Senoi Praaq general operations force battalion, other government agencies, orang asli villagers and other volunteers.

Helicopters equipped with infrared radars were also deployed in the search.

Even though the family were kept away from the search so as to keep them safe considering the terrain of the search area was somewhat treacherous, they did their bit, with a recording of Nora's mother’s voice urging her to come home being blasted on loudspeakers by rescuers.

The family also offered a reward of £10,000 (about RM50,628) for finding her.
