Man roughed up after fender bender at Second Link

ISKANDAR PUTERI: A man was assaulted by two individuals following a road accident at the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link here this morning, according to a video that has gone viral on social media.

The 19-second video clip shows one of the attackers punching and kicking the victim while the other slammed the car door into him as he tried to alight from his vehicle.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief Assistant Commissioner Dzulhairi Mukhtar confirmed the incident, saying police received a report at about 7.37am today (Aug 13).

He said the person who lodged the police report, a Singaporean in his 30s, claimed he was the person assaulted in the video.

"The incident did take place and investigations are ongoing," he said in a statement today.

He said initial investigations showed that the altercation took place after the victim allegedly crashed his vehicle into another car, which was occupied by the two suspects.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

This comes after police remanded a husband and wife for alleged murder after a 29-year-old man – with whom they engaged in a dispute after a minor collision in Bangi – died on Saturday.
