Water supply fully restored in Hulu Langat

KUALA LUMPUR: Water supply in Hulu Langat has been fully restored as of 6am today, involving 114,018 accounts.

However, full restoration is still in progress in Petaling (132,953 accounts), Kuala Langat (49,180) and Sepang (75,880) areas, said Air Selangor customer relations and communication department head Abdul Raof Ahmad.

"In Petaling, the restoration progress stood at 99 per cent, and Kuala Langat and Sepang at 98 per cent respectively.

"Every effort is made to restore water supply to affected customers.

"Water tankers are being mobilised regularly and the local service centres (SMEs) will continue to operate 24 hours until water supply is fully restored," he said in a statement today.

On Saturday, the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant had to be shut down due to odour pollution measuring up to 5 TONs (Threshold Odour Number) at the raw water sources.

A total of 204 areas involving 372,031 accounts in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang were affected by the unscheduled water cuts.
