PUTRAJAYA: The new pump price of RON97 petrol will be cheaper by 19 sen from midnight tonight until Oct 11.
RON97 will now cost RM2.60 per litre, from its previous price of RM2.79 per litre.
However, the price of RON95 petrol and diesel will remain unchanged at RM2.08 per litre and RM2.18 per litre, respectively, thanks to the government’s subsidy.
"Without the subsidy, the actual price of RON95 is RM2.30 per litre, while diesel would cost RM2.34 per litre, based on calculations under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM),” the Foreign Ministry said.
It added that the estimated subsidy incurred by the government during the Oct 5 to Oct 11 period is RM101.52 million (RM78.19 million for RON95, and RM23.33 million for diesel).
