Petrol, diesel prices to remain unchanged until April 17 despite increase in global oil price

KUALA LUMPUR: Retail prices of petrol and diesel will remain unchanged from tomorrow (April 11) until April 17, despite an increase in global oil prices.

The ceiling prices for RON95 and diesel will be maintained at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively.

RON97 will be maintained at RM3.47 a litre.

The Finance Ministry in a statement today said the ceiling price of RON95 and diesel will be maintained even though the market price for both products have increased beyond the current ceiling price, to protect consumers from the increase of global oil price.

Petrol and diesel prices are fixed based on the weekly retail prices of petroleum products under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).

The Finance Ministry said it will continue to monitor global crude oil price trends and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people.
