Teacher found dead in a room

KOTA KINABALU: The mysterious stench emanating from an apartment unit in Menggatal turned out to be the remains of a female teacher.

The discovery was made at about 6pm yesterday by the 27-year-old woman's housemate.

This was after the teacher did not come out from her room for days.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Habibi Majinji said they received a report at 6.10pm.

"After getting the report, we instructed our personnel to go to the location.

"We found a dead woman in the room," he said in a statement.

Habibi said the woman had not came out from the house for three days.

"It is learned that the woman also had a heart problem.

"The body was found lying with blood stain. She is believed to have fallen while alone in the room," he said when contacted.

Habibi said the case is being classified as sudden death.

The body was sent to the Queen Elizabeth hospital for post-mortem.
