SUNGAI PETANI: A disabled woman was found dead at a double-storey house in Bandar Puteri Jaya here on Monday.
The 29-year-old victim is said to be living with her 36-year-old sister who rents the home since December.
It is learnt that the victim was found unconscious by her sister upon returning from work.
However, the victim, a slow learner, was pronounced dead by a medical response team from the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital.
Meanwhile, Kuala Muda police chief Assistant Commissioner Zaidy Che Hassan confirmed the case and said police have been granted a five-day remand order against a suspect detained to facilitate the case.
"The body was sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital Alor Star for a postmortem. The case is still under investigation," he said when contacted.
