Kelantan floods ease considerably; evacuees down to 825

KOTA BARU: Fair weather has led to a remarkable improvement in the flooding situation in Kelantan, with hundreds of evacuees able to return to their homes, overnight.

As of 8am today, the number of flood victims at temporary relief centres (PPS) across the state has fallen to 825 people from 304 families, compared to 1,459 people on Saturday night, Bernama reported.

The remaining evacuees are still taking shelter at three PPS in Pasir Mas, and six PPS in Tumpat, the InfoBencanaJKM app revealed.

Meanwhile, all rivers in the state have returned to their normal levels – with the exception of Sungai Golok, which is still at its warning point of 8.12 metres, publicinfobanjir.water.gov.my reported.

All roads are open and accessible to traffic.
