Viral video of Selayang Hospital being Covid-19 hotbed is fake

KUALA LUMPUR: A viral 45-second video clip claiming the Covid-19 infection has reached the Selayang Hospital is not true.

The Health Ministry through a post on its official Facebook page had denied claims made by the person filming the video that the coronavirus had allegedly spread to the hospital.

In the video, several people were seen standing outside the hospital's mortuary and next to the mortuary there were few makeshift tents.

The woman in the video was heard telling viewers as well as her loved ones not to go to the Selayang Hospital and for those who had to make a visit to the said hospital, she advised them to wear a face mask.

The video started making its rounds in the social media this afternoon, before the ministry declared it as fake and advised netizens against circulating and sharing the video.

In the same Facebook post, it explained the Selayang Hospital is one of the screening hospitals for the coronavirus and the makeshift tents were part of the ministry’s preparation measures.
