Pelita giving out food to all Covid-19 frontliners

GEORGE TOWN: Malaysia’s largest nasi kandar restaurant chain, Pelita Samudra Pertama (M) Sdn Bhd (Pelita) is handing out food from today for frontliners battling the Covid-19 pandemic.

Its executive director Datuk K. K. Sihabutheen said food distribution would be done throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO).

“We want to show appreciation for those making Malaysia a better and safer place.

“The frontliners have been working 24 hours for us and we want to give back to them,” he said today.

The food packets comprising nasi kandar with ice lemon tea - can also be collected at all Pelita restaurants from today till the end of the month.

All that is required to be shown is an authority card for collection.

Earlier today, Pelita staff were seen distributing food parcels to hospital staff at Seberang Jaya Hospital.

A 14-day MCO began on Wednesday till March 31 nationwide to curb the spread of the Covid-19 infection in Malaysia.
