KUANTAN: As the country grapples with the Covid-19 pandemic, the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed his heartfelt thanks to all medical frontliners today.

In a 50-second video clip, Tengku Hassanal commended medical workers at hospitals nationwide for their courage in carrying out their duties amid a deadly outbreak.

"I express my gratitude and thank all frontline staff on duty at all hospitals.

"You are all truly brave. I pray that every one of you takes care of your health so the Covid-19 can be curbed and thousands of lives saved.

"Thank you frontliners ... stay home, stay healthy and stay safe," he said.

In the video clip message, Tengku Hassanal is seen standing in front of a large board with the words "Frontliners, Thank You, Terima Kasih, Stay Home and Duduk Rumah" written on it.

In a recent statement, Tengku Hassanal called on Muslims in Pahang to perform the "solat hajat” every Friday night until April 14 to help protect the country from unforeseen diseases and disasters.

Tengku Hassanal, who is also the Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (Muip) president, said the prayer is aimed at helping curb the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
