KUALA LUMPUR: Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah's appearance every afternoon on television for the daily media conference has become the norm for Malaysians seeking to learn the updates of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
Flanked by his deputies, he addresses each of the questions by journalists with tact and consideration, while giving the latest statistics of infections and recoveries from the virus.
After nearly two months without a single break, Dr Noor Hisham has taken a day off from his daily briefing.
The media had been informed about the matter and that a statement would be issued later.
Dr Noor Hisham may not appear on TV today, but he is still on the clock executing other duties.
