Overwhelming response to sale of My30 unlimited monthly travel pass

KUALA LUMPUR: Commuters thronged RapidKL counters to get their hands on the My30 unlimited travel pass when it was launched yesterday, with 21,403 passes sold in a single day.

The package, which is an initiative under the government's Economic Recovery Plan (Penjana), allows Malaysians to enjoy unlimited rail and bus rides operated by the group in the Klang Valley at only RM30 per month, until the end of the year.

Prasarana Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer Muhammad Nizam Alias said the package will help ease the burden faced by the people, especially those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We expect the number to increase from day to day. Of the 2,209 comments related to My30 posted on social media, more than 85 per cent are very positive, and we are grateful to all the commuters who have supported us all this while," he said.

Nizam said My30 will especially benefit those who travel daily to work and attract new customers at the same time, subsequently increasing the number of commuters.

Malaysians can buy the MY30 pass at 122 LRT, MRT, Monorail and BRT stations; and at five RapidKL bus hubs: Pasar Seni, Shah Alam Section 2, Greenwood, Kajang terminal and Sri Nilam.
