"They are part of 180 individuals who were arrested for going against the SOP, including 16 violators who have been remanded.

"They were detained during 57,066 checks nationwide by the police task force to monitor public SOP compliance," he said in a statement today.

Ismail Sabri said the task force's 2,301 surveillance teams, involving 11,705 personnel, inspected 3,489 supermarkets; 5,394 restaurants and 1,458 hawkers; 930 factories, 3,550 banks and 790 government offices.

They had also checked on 1,375 land transport terminals; 278 water transport terminals and 123 air transport terminals.

On the ongoing Op Benteng to curb the entry of illegal at the country's borders, Ismail Sabri said three foreigners were arrested for violating immigration laws.

He said roadblocks were mounted nationwide where 31,184 vehicles were checked to stop illegal foreigners from entering the country via rat lanes.

On a separate matter, Ismail Sabri said 7,364 Malaysians returned home from abroad between July 24 and yesterday (Friday), of whom 20 tested positive for Covid-19. They were sent to hospitals to receive treatment.
