52 new Covid-19 cases as of noon

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has recorded 52 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today.

Health director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the total, 40 were local transmissions involving 26 Malaysians and 14 foreigners.

The remaining 12 others were imported cases, involving three Malaysians and nine foreigners.

Sabah had recorded the most number of cases at 36, with 27 from the Benteng LD cluster.

Kuala Lumpur logged six new cases, followed by Selangor (four), Kedah (three), Labuan (two) and Penang (one).

This brings the cumulative number of infections in the country to 10,219 cases.

Another 40 people have been cured, increasing the recoveries to 9,355 or 91.55 per cent from the total number of cases.

Currently, 10 people were being warded in the ICU with two patients needing ventilators.

No new deaths had been reported.
