KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin assures the public that contact tracing has been made easy now compared to at the start of the pandemic because 17 million Malaysians are now using the MySejahtera mobile application.
The Prime Minister said this in a special televised address on the current Covid-19 situation in Malaysia this evening.
The country is seeing a spike in cases of late, with some daily figures higher than those recorded during the first three phases of the movement control order (MCO) and the subsequent conditional MCO (CMCO).
Today's cases is yet another record high at 691, however most of the cases are confined to the Tembok cluster in Kedah as well as in Sabah.
Muhyiddin said the percentage of the rakyat now using MySejahtera is estimated to be more than 60 per cent, which he added was a positive development in facing the pandemic.
He also called on the people who have yet to use the application to register.
