Cousins sell off personal belongings to help those affected by Covid-19

KOTA KINABALU: Four cousins sold off their personal belongings to raise funds to help those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Utilising Facebook's Live platform, Nelly Sofizah Yusof, 33, said during a three-hour session, they managed to raise at least RM3,000 by selling some 300 items.

Among the items they sold include handbags, shoes and other branded items which they had been meaning to give away to declutter their wardrobes.

"The price varies for each item. It depends on the quality and brand. But we marked down some up to 80 per cent from their original price.

"We always wanted to collect funds from selling our preloved items, but we were not sure who to give the money to.

"But, now is the right time to do so to help the people from our 'kampung' in Kuala Penyu and Sipitang," she told the New Straits Times, adding that when they did the virtual sale, someone messaged them asking for help to buy milk for their children.
