CMCO extension will be made known at least a day before current phase ends [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: The government will announce whether or not to continue with the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor at least a day before the order ends which is Oct 27.

The same goes for Labuan which is currently under CMCO until Oct 30.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Special National Security Council (NSC) Meeting would have a discussion on the matter with the Health Ministry soon.

"The Health Ministry will have to conduct an analysis first on areas affected by the CMCO. After the analysis is carried out, the ministry will advise us on the decision.

"We shall wait and I believe we may announce the decision whether or not to continue with the enforcement at the latest a day before it ends.

"Wait for the government's announcement," he said in his daily press conference on non-health issues related to the Covid-19 pandemic today.

Earlier in the same press conference, Ismail Sabri announced that the CMCO in Sabah due to end Oct 26 is now extended until Nov 9.
