EMCO at Salak Tinggi's Medan 88

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has decided to enforce the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at Medan 88 Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, Sepang in Selangor for two weeks from tomorrow (Nov 12).

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the EMCO, from Nov 12 to Nov 25, would involve 284 premises, 88 shophouses, affecting 800 residents after 39 positive Covid-19 cases were recorded as of Nov 5.

"The EMCO is to ensure targeted screening can be done and also to control the movement there," he said during his daily press conference today.

He also said the EMCO at the Penang Remand Prison and the prison quarters as well as at the Mutiara Kasih Apartment and Taman Khazanah Indah in Lahad Datu ended today.

Ismail Sabri said the decision to end the EMCO at the prison and its quarters was reached after the Health Ministry had observed a downward trend of Covid-19 cases with the last positive cases recorded on Nov 5.

For the Mutiara Kasih Apartment and Taman Khazanah Indah, he said the government had decided to end the EMCO earlier after the test samples results from 5,189 since Nov 10 came back negative.

"The Health Ministry did not record any cases at these localities for 18 days," he added.
