Three new clusters detected in Klang Valley, JB [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Three new Covid-19 clusters – two in the Klang Valley and another in Johor – were detected today, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He said the first cluster – the Jalan Lapan cluster – consists of cases from the Hulu Langat district in Selangor, and the districts of Cheras, Kepong, Titiwangsa and Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur.

"Up to today, 306 people have been screened and 25 of them tested positive for Covid-19," he said in a press conference at the Health Ministry today.

The second cluster, known as the Batu Sembilan cluster, involves the Kuala Langat, Klang, Petaling and Kuala Selangor districts in Selangor.

According to Dr Noor Hisham, 83 people in the Batu Sembilan cluster have been screened, with 19 of them testing positive for Covid-19.

"The third is the Nibong cluster, which involves the Johor Baru district in Johor. As of Nov 30, 152 individuals have been screened and 10 of them tested positive for Covid-19."

With the emergence of the three new clusters, the tally of clusters nationwide is 362.

However, Dr Noor Hisham said that so far, 181 clusters have ended – including five which ceased today.

"The five clusters are the Sofi cluster, Tapah Prison cluster, Kapor cluster, Jambu cluster and Meldrum cluster.

"Clusters that recorded the highest number of additional cases today are Perigi (153 cases), Bintang (71 cases) and Cergas (66 cases).
