Covid-19: 3 business outlets in Donggongon to close temporarily

PENAMPANG: Several business premises in Donggongon town, here, have been ordered to close temporarily after several employees tested positive for Covid-19.

The management of the Chua Kah Seng (CKS) Supermarket here took to social media to inform customers about the closure of its Donggongon Branch after an employee was infected with the novel coronavirus.

According to a statement posted on its Facebook Page, the management sent the entire Donggongon Branch workforce for swab tests as a precautionary measure as instructed by the Sabah Health Department.

"Our premises, the CKS Donggongon Branch will be closed until the second screening results are out.

"The management appreciates the support and trust from our customers and employees over the years," it said, while calling on everyone to remain united in fighting Covid-19.

Similarly, Sunlight Pharmacy had yesterday confirmed that one of its employees at its Donggongon outlet tested positive on Dec 9 following a precautionary Covid-19 swab test.

"Putting the health of our employees and customers as top priority, our Donggongon outlet will be closed for thorough disinfection and sanitisation.

"All the team members that had been working with the affected employee at the Donggongon outlet were sent for Covid-19 swab tests on Dec 10," said the management in a post on Sunlight Pharmacy's Facebook Page.

The management also shared photos of disinfection works being carried out at its branch yesterday.

Meanwhile, Alliance Bank Malaysia also took to Facebook to alert their customers about the closure of its Donggongon branch and e-lobby until further notice starting yesterday.

According to a statement, the branch underwent thorough sanitisation after an employee tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 9.

The employee was absent from office since Dec 5 and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

The bank also noted that other employees would undergo Covid-19 tests and home quarantine as a safety precaution.
