Another Sabah Assistant minister tests positive for Covid-19

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Assistant Public Works minister Datuk Robert Tawik has been tested positive for Covid-19.

Robert, who is also Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) vice-president, was admitted to the Keningau district hospital yesterday.

This was confirmed by STAR secretary-general Datuk Guan Dee Koh Hoi who was met after he received a membership application from former Putatan Parti Warisan Sabah women chief Noraini Omar.

"I have spoken to him (Robert) and he is doing fine," he said.

As for Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who was also admitted for Covid-19 treatment on Jan 3, Guan said the STAR party president was well.

"He is also doing well and in high spirits. Dr Jeffrey is expected to be discharged early next week," he said.

Yesterday, Sabah recorded 403 new Covid-19 cases with a new cluster dubbed as Kauran in Keningau district with 55 positive cases.
