With Covid-19 surging, WFH can protect us

LETTERS: THE recent spike in Covid-19 infection cases, along with its variants should be taken seriously.

We should encourage companies to allow employees to work from home or from any location where they feel comfortable and safe to curb the spread of the virus. This can reduce the risk of infection and help the country curb the spread of the virus and its variants effectively.

At the same time, every worker must adopt new norms and make use of technology for their work. Subject to types of work, many work-related activities can be carried out online.

With the advancement of technology, there are many applications that workers can use to perform their work without the need to be present at the workplace. Do we still need to carry out face-to face interviews, workshops, seminars and even meetings?

The use of technology should not be restricted when we are facing an emergency situation, like during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Using technology would allow employers and employees to save money, time and energy.

There is no need for employers and employees to endure traffic jams just to attend workshops, seminars and even meetings. They can then focus on other equally important work.

The world has changed significantly since the Covid-19 pandemic, and people are rapidly changing their lifestyles, including working routines, by using technology to carry out work.
