19 Covid-19 clusters still active in Perak

IPOH: A total of 43 clusters have been reported in the state, with 19 clusters still deemed active, Perak Menteri Besar said.

Datuk Saarani Mohamad said as of yesterday, a total of five sub-district which are Taiping, Sitiawan, Bota, Ipoh and Gerik are in the red zone.

He said three sub-districts in the state; Senggang, Chemor and Hulu Bernam are currently in the orange zone; while 41 sub-district in the yellow zone and 29 other sub-district in the green zone.

"Perak has recorded the first Covid-19 case on Mac 14, last year.

As of yesterday, Perak recorded a cumulative number of Covid-19 cases is now stands at 7,393 with 36 deaths or 0.49 per cent.

"The incidence rate (IR) of Covid-19 cases in Perak is now 283 per 100,000 population, compared to the Malaysian IR of 782/100,000 population," he said in a statement today.

Earlier, Saarani attended a meeting on Perak Covid-19 Emergency Management Technical Committee at Casuarina Hotel in Meru, near here, today.

Also present were Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Parliament and Law Affairs) Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan, Public Service Department (PSD) director-general Tan Sri Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman and Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He said to date, there are 11 Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) operating throughout the state and cumulatively, a total of 956 patients have been monitored by the CAC.

"Currently, CAC is monitoring a total of 143 patients who are undergoing isolation at home," he said.
