Kelantan MB receives Covid-19 vaccine jab [NSTTV]

KOTA BARU: Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob became the first person in the state to receive the Covid-19 vaccine at the Darulnaim Complex here at about 11.15am.

The vaccination was done by nurse Norliyan Abd Rahim from the Kota Baru Bandar Health Clinic.

Besides Ahmad, 41 others comprising state executive councillors, state assembly speaker, assemblymen and frontliners also received their first dosage today.

They include deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, state Housing Committee chairman Dr Izani Husin and State Culture, and Tourism and Heritage Committee chairman Datuk Md Anizam Abd Rahman.

Others were Kelantan police chief Datuk Shafien Mamat, and his deputy SAC Abdullah Mohammad Piah.

Today's programme also saw 27 frontliners given the vaccination.

Ahmad said he was taking the vaccination for the sake of the people and hoped they would follow his example.

A total 42,000 frontliners in Kelantan will receive their first dosage in the first phase of the Covid-19 Immunisation Programme which is expected to be completed by April.
