Covid-19: 2,154 new cases

KUALA LUMPUR: The number of new Covid-19 cases has risen slightly today to 2,154 new infections today compared to 2,063 yesterday.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this brings the cumulative number of cases to 310,097 with 22,034 being active cases.

Of the daily total, 62.3 per cent (1,339) were locals, while 810 were foreigners.

There were also five imported cases today.

Selangor remains at the top with 794 new cases, followed by Johor (463 cases) and Sarawak (250 cases).

Another 3,275 people have recovered, increasing the total number of recoveries to 286,904 or 92.5 per cent of the total cases.

He said six more deaths were reported today, all involving Malaysians. The death toll now stands at 1,159.

Currently, 184 people are being treated at intensive care units, with 87 patients intubated.
