KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded a total of 1,384 new Covid-19 positive cases in the 24 hours leading up to noon today, raising the cumulative infections to 335,540.
The Health Ministry, on its official Twitter account, said 1,375 cases involved local transmissions while nine were individuals who contracted the virus abroad.
Six Covid-19 patients died today, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,244.
Meanwhile, 1,058 patients have recovered and 14,454 are active cases.
There are 148 patients who are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, where 62 require breathing assistance.
