No Ramadan bazaar for Sabah this year

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government has decided to ban Ramadan bazaars this year, said state Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

He said this was decided based on the fact that the Covid-19 situation in Sabah was still unstable.

He also noted the emergence of several new clusters triggered by social gatherings and events, as well as low level compliance of existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Today, Sabah recorded 60 new infections and 53 recovery cases. No new cluster was detected.

On a positive note, Sipitang district has become a green zone from yellow, bringing the total green zone districts to seven.

Six districts remain as red zones, while three districts are still placed under orange zone and 11 others are categorised as yellow zones.

Masidi also said the state government had ended the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) for Kampung Lebak Moyoh and Kampung Siasai Tamu today as scheduled.

Both localities are in the Kota Belud district.
