1,510 new Covid-19 cases today

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia continues to log new Covid-19 cases, with 1,510 infections being recorded as of noon today.

This brings the total number of coronavirus cases nationwide to 359,117.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor topped the list with 415 cases, followed by Sarawak (296 cases) and Kelantan (171 cases).

Of the new cases, 1,505 were local infections, while five were imported cases involving one Malaysian and four foreigners.

"Eight deaths were reported today, involving four in Sarawak, three in Selangor and one in Pahang.

"All deaths were Malaysians," he said in a statement today.

To date, 194 people are being treated in the intensive care unit, with 81 needing ventilators.

The ministry also logged 1,248 recoveries today, increasing the number to 342,737 (95.4 per cent).
