More than 1,400 people fail to turn up for vaccination in Kelantan

KOTA BARU: State Health Department today said 1,411 people, aged 60 and above, failed to turn up to receive their Covid-19 vaccine jabs recently.

State Health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said they were scheduled to receive the vaccine in stages since last month.

"These elderly people are supposed to get their inoculations under the phase two of the state-level National Immunisation Programme (NIP) at three Vaccine Delivery Centres (PPV).

"The centres are situated at Pasir Mas, Pasir Putih and Kota Baru," he said.

Dr Zaini said the department has opened another PPV in Machang today (May 5) for the elderly group.

"We plan to set up three more PPVs in Jeli, Kuala Krai and Bachok tomorrow (May 6)," he said.

He said so far, more than 5,000 elderly people had been inoculated under the phase two of the NIP.

"Another 4,000 elderly people are scheduled to get their vaccines in the next few days," he added.
