ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Johor government is planning to announce the Ihsan Johor 3.0 economic stimulus package soon.
Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad said the package would focus on two areas - enhancing the pandemic management in Johor and strengthening the social security of people in need.
"The package will complement the initiatives and assistance announced by the Federal Government and is the continuation of the Ihsan Johor 2020 and 2.0 packages," said Hasni in a statement.
He said as of May 23, 2021, Ihsan Johor 2020 had benefited 295,464 recipients with an allocation totaling RM167.33 million while Ihsan Johor 2.0 had benefited 387,674 recipients with an allocation totalling RM109.48 million.
"The Ihsan Johor 3.0 package will be announced and implemented immediately so that it can reach the targeted groups quickly as well as to accelerate the state's economic recovery efforts.
"To ensure the package's smooth implementation and meeting its goals, I urge all parties to play their roles as best as possible," said Hasni.
The menteri besar, on behalf of the state government, also welcomed the Pemerkasa Plus initiative announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
"I followed closely the RM40 billion package and am confident that it would reach ita goals, which is to improve the public health capacity, continuing the people's welfare agenda and supporting the continuity of businesses.
"I am grateful for all the efforts and assistance given to all levels of society, especially those affected by the stricter Movement Control Order due to the Covid-19 pandemic that is still burdening people worldwide," said Hasni
He said the large allocation to improve the healthcare sector and to assist the people were important and needed to be expedited to ensure the country's success in handling the pandemic.
