Kelantan palace officials undergo vaccinations

KOTA BARU: A total 350 officers and staff of the Kelantan palace received their first Covid-19 vaccine dose yesterday.

The 350 comprising both men and women, received their first dose in a programme held at Istana Balai Besar here.

A statement from the Sultan's Office stated that the programme was jointly organised between the Sultan's office and the district health office.

"A total 350 officers and staff of the Kelantan palace received their first dose yesterday to protect themselves from the Covid-19 infection.

"They are expected to get their second dose on July 30," said the statement.

It is learnt that the 350 were among 120,000 people in the state who received their first vaccine jabs as of yesterday.

Another 55,000 locals have completed their vaccination since the state-level National Immunisation Programme (NIP) started in April.

Kelantan is expected to receive more vaccine doses end of this week.

Report had said nearly 12,000 people did not turn up for their vaccine jabs but the majority of them have already had their appointment dates rescheduled.
