KUALA LUMPUR: The number of active Covid-19 cases continue to climb with more new cases recorded against the number of recoveries as of noon today.
According to statistics, the number of active cases now stands at 74,344, while 4,863 for recoveries.
Today, 7,097 new Covid-19 cases were recorded with Selangor still recording the highest with 3,119, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,005) and Negri Sembilan (788).
Other states with three-digit cases were Melaka (358), Sarawak (289), Pahang (258), Sabah (244), Johor (224), Kedah (198), Perak (187), Penang (140), and Kelantan (123).
Labuan registered 93 cases, followed by Terengganu (43) and Putrajaya (26). Perlis is the only state with single digit cases of two new cases today.
The total number of patients in the Intensive Care Unit stands at 948, while 441 are intubated.
A total of 91 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, and this brings the cumulative number of deaths to 5,768.
