TANAH MERAH: More than 37,000 people in Kelantan received their first Covid-19 vaccine jab through a series of outreach programmes throughout the state.
State Health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said the figure, recorded as of Sunday, also included those who were vaccinated in remote areas.
"We have carried out several outreach programmes in the state since a few months back. We expect to see more people vaccinated in the coming days," he told reporters at a community outreach programme in Kampung Kusial Baru, here, today.
Dr Zaini said the programme today involved 33 staff from the state Health Department.
He said the programmes were effective in getting more people vaccinated.
"All parties from the local authority to the community leaders give their full cooperation to make this programme a success," he said.
