Three PPVs in Perak set to open next month [NSTTV]

IPOH: Three integrated vaccination centres (PPV) are scheduled to open next month in Perak.

State Health, Environment and Green Technology Committee chairman Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin said the integrated PPVs would be set up at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in Tanjung Malim; Tzu Chi in Ipoh and Multimedia College in Taiping.

"Based on the vaccine schedule, we will open three integrated PPVs. One or two more PPVs will also be opened in Perak to speed up the vaccination process.

"The state currently administers about 33,000 vaccine doses a day. With more PPVs scheduled to open, we hope more people will get vaccinated too," he said.

Mohd Akmal was speaking to reporters after visiting Poliklinik WeCare in Jelapang here today, one of the GP clinics included in the Covid-19 National Immunisation Program (NIP) to assist the government's initiative to provide free vaccination for Malaysians.

He also advised people in the state to remain calm despite the high number of positive Covid-19 cases in Perak.

"We hope the people will remain calm and continue to observe the standard operating procedures. Don't worry about the figures as this is largely due to the targeted mass screening efforts in the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) areas," he added.
