SHAH ALAM: The contractor in charge of the site in which a worker died and four others were injured following a falling scaffolding incident has conveyed its condolences to the victims of the tragedy.
Pembinaan Jaya Zira Sdn Bhd, which is the GS09 Work Package Contractor (WPC) for the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) project in Jalan Langat, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang said this in a statement today.
A Bangladeshi worker was killed and another four foreign workers injured in the 2.15pm incident.
Four of those workers had been initially rescued and they sustained light injuries. The worker who died had been trapped under debris.
"We are working with the Fire and Rescue Department and investigating the cause of the incident. A Stop Work Order has been issued to stop all construction activities with immediate effect.
"We would like to express our deepest condolences and apologies to the victims and their families. We also apologise to the public for any inconvenience caused," it said in a statement today.
