Covid-19 fatalities surpass 300 mark for second day

KUALA LUMPUR: Covid-19 fatalities nationwide surpassed the 300 mark for the second consecutive day, with 339 deaths in the last 24 hours.

On Thursday, Malaysia reported its highest fatalities from the coronavirus pandemic with 393 fatalities to date.

The Health Ministry in a Facebook posting today said the latest deaths takes the tally of fatalities recorded to 15,550 since the pandemic struck the nation last year.

On recoveries, 21,877 patients have been discharged, with overall Covid-19 recoveries numbering 1,381,668 patients.

"Currently, 982 cases are being treated at the intensive care units, 470 of whom require ventilation support."

Today, Covid-19 cases in Malaysia saw a decline, with 22,070 new infections recorded as of noon.

Yesterday, Malaysia recorded a record high with 24,599 cases.
