KOTA BARU: The Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department has innovated another disinfection chamber machine, the second introduced by the department to help save time and manpower.
Department director Zainal Mandasin said the new portable disinfection chamber was an innovation by firemen from the Kota Baru and Darulnaim Fire and Rescue stations.
He said the chamber was introduced in May this year and was used by firemen after the burial of Covid-19 patients.
"Our officers came up with the idea to set up the portable disinfection chamber after realising it is hard for those involved in the burial of Covid-19 patients to clean themselves after completing the work.
"With this portable chamber, it will make it easy for them to disinfect themselves without relying on others as the chamber operates automatically through sensors," he said.
He said the chamber would be brought to the cemetery and placed near the burial site.
"It will provide full-body sanitisation to firemen from head to toe," he added.
The first automated machine was innovated by the Kota Baru Fire and Rescue station.
