Sarawak election: GPS, DAP, PSB and PBK to fight for Batu Kitang

KUCHING: It will be a four-cornered fight between Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), DAP, Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) and Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) in Batu Kitang.

Election Commission (EC) returning officer Elizabeth Loh made the announcement at the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), after nominations closed at 10am.

She said GPS candidate Lo Khere Chiang would be going up against Abdul Aziz Isa of DAP, PSB candidate Liew Thian Liang and PBK candidate Wong Tun Teck.

"I am satisfied and none of the forms submitted by the four candidates were rejected," she said.

In 2016, Lo Khere Chiang polled 6,466 votes to win in the multi-cornered tussle with PKR's Voon Shiak Ni, Abdul Aziz and two other independent candidates.

Batu Kitang was among the six overlapping seats where both DAP and PKR contested after failing to reach a consensus for seat distribution in the last state polls.
