KUALA LUMPUR: Continuous heavy rain since Friday morning saw several housing areas in Shah Alam and Klang to be inundated.
Floodwater started rising in the Shah Alam area about 9pm and was said to have entered several houses in Taman Sri Muda, Kota Kemuning and even on the KESAS Highway towards Klang.
As of 9am today, the water level at some of the residential areas was above the knee length.
To make matters worse, a resident from Taman Sri Sentosa, Klang spotted an unwelcomed visitor - a snake entering her house just before dawn.
Several other snake invasion videos have also been shared on social media by those affected by the floods.
Residents in Jalan Kebun and Sri Sentosa were the worst affected with some 20 families displaced.
Residents had to wade through knee level water as many roads in the area were inaccessible to cars and motorcycles as of 10 am today.
Many also tried to move as many belongings as they could to higher grounds, as floodwater continue to rise.
In Taman Kandis, a resident, Pritam Singh, 69 said the water level was rising slowly, as the rain continued unabated.
"The water is just about one inch short of entering into my house. The roads outside are fully covered by floodwaters but are still passable by motorists," he said, adding that he has moved most of the furniture's and important electrical items to the top floor of his double story house.
Pritam hoped the rain will stop soon and the water will start receding.
