PTPTN: No documents needed for repayment deferment

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) will be giving a three-month loan repayment deferment to its borrowers affected by the floods without the need to produce supporting documents.

In a statement today, it said that the affected borrowers can apply for the loan deferment from tomorrow to March 31 next year.

The application can be made via its official website at 'www.ptptn.gov.my/ PenangguhanBayaranBalikBanjir' link or at any of its branches in the country.

"The three-month loan repayment deferment for flood victims will come into effect the same month their application is approved and for the next two consecutive months.

"Deferment approval will be notified to the borrower via e-mail within three working days from the date the borrower submits the application.

"Therefore, borrowers are reminded to update accurate and latest contact information to ensure that the approval information of the deferment application can be communicated to them," it said today.

Last week, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad announced PTPTN will be offering the three-month loan repayment deferment to PTPTN borrowers affected by floods.
